Andrea has been in the insurance industry since 1999. She started out as an assistant of B-1 manager and controller in the claims department and has ended as a board member.
Andrea is a creative person, and in her spare time you can find her trying new handmade techniques from sewing to jewellery making to woodworking. Creative work with her hands is an excellent counterpoint to my daily challenges at work.
As a member of the board at Generali, Andrea feels a great responsibility towards their clients and her colleagues. That is why access to colleagues, openness, and support are very important to her. She is always available to help when needed. She is thankful to all her colleagues for their enthusiasm and proficiency, because - as Andrea says - they are the ones who give the right meaning to what she does. According to her, the environment of an innovative company is fantastic. Because she is naturally curious and interested in how things work, she has always been a life-long learner. That’s what keeps her going.

Women In Leadership: Taking and Creating Space
5.30-6.30pm CET
Chisom UDEZE
Women, from all walks of life and across cultures have in one way or the other, been historically and socially programmed to shrink, stay in the background and not take too much space in many areas of our lives. This rampant phenomenon manifests at home, in the work place, and in society at large. Now, more than ever we must begin to challenge and dismantle structures, systems and constructs that limit and hold us back, with courage, compassion, curiosity and empathy. Even when those limitations are self-imposed.
What does it mean to create and take space? And why is taking space imperative?
1-2pm CET
The Feminine and Masculine Forces
in Your Leadership
Alena HUBEROVA
There seems to be a common misconception among both women and men, of what the feminine and the masculine really mean and their value to society and to our businesses. What’s more, the two forces are somewhat competing with one another, leading to frustration, mis-understanding and conflict. Is the masculine force more desirable in running an effective organisation? Or should you rather lean into your feminine? We shall tackle this confusion head on in this talk. You will get the chance to re-visit your way of thinking about the issue and your own biases in order to understand yourselves and others better and create a workplace culture where people (including YOU) actually like to work.

Meet the Team
Lean In Network Slovakia is an official network of the global initiative LeanIn.org founded by Sheryl Sandberg. Our mission is to help women achieve their maximum potential at work and develop female leaders. We meet these goals by providing quality education, removing barriers women face at work and building supportive community. Since 2019 we have educated more than 3000 people on various soft-skills, digital and diversity, inclusion & equity topics. We also conduct local research related to women at work.
We are a team of 17 people (and growing) and this initiative formally operates under the umbrella of our civic association Female Algorithm. We run activities mainly in Slovakia, but now is the best time to step beyond the geographical borders and get united with likeminded leaders from all over Europe.
